A MESSAGE FROM THE CLEGGS
TODD & TRISHA CLEGG
Bud Bower, a World War II Veteran started Ojai Trucking Company in 1949 along with his wife, Noreen. The Bowers resided in Ojai with their four children, Diane, Dwayne, Gene and Susan. The family trucking company grew so rapidly that the family decided to move the business from their home office to a warehouse in Meiners Oaks and finally to a large warehouse in Ojai. In 1962 Ojai Van Lines became an agent for Mayflower Transit.
In 1978, the Bower’s daughter, Diane purchased the business along with her husband Bill Clegg. Bill and Diane’s 3 sons, David, Todd and Troy because the third generation to work for the business. The whole family worked hard to build the business and flourish in good and bad times.
In 1980, the Cleggs purchased their second moving and storage company, Coast Transfer and Storage which is also an agent of Mayflower and is currently operating out of Ventura, California where the business currently remains. When Bill and Diane retired in 2005, their son Todd and wife Trisha took over both moving and storage companies and still continue to run them along with their daughters, Khrista and Jordan Clegg, making them the fourth generation to work for the family business.
